After this period, the legal guarantee can no longer be invoked. However, even after the two-year guarantee has expired, we will gladly look for a suitable solution in consultation with you. Repair of KeJe products

Repairs and service requests always go through a KeJe dealer. Please contact the dealer where you bought the product. They can report the product to us for repair and together with us ensure a suitable solution.

Yes, that's not a problem. You are free to contact another KeJe dealer. All dealers can submit a repair or service request to us.

We supply spare parts exclusively through our dealers. Sometimes dealers have small parts directly in stock (such as clips, handles or steel tape). For specific parts or larger orders, the dealer will request this from us.

In most cases, we do not recommend this. Our products are specially designed and precisely tuned. Repairing them yourself may result in damage or loss of warranty. Repairs are therefore usually done via a KeJe dealer.

Parts such as strings or mesh are usually not easy to replace yourself, as this is specialist work. Want to know if your product is still repairable? Contact a dealer near you.

Pleated screen doors

No, in principle, a pleated screen door does not need to be lubricated. The guides and mechanism are low-maintenance and function without grease or oil. Lubrication can actually cause dirt and dust to enter the system, making the door run less smoothly. Keeping the guides clean and dust-free is sufficient maintenance.

In most cases, readjustment is not necessary. Should the screen door run less smoothly or not close properly over time, first check that there is no dirt or obstacles in the guides. If the problem persists, you can check the tension of the cord or the adjustment of the door. Consult the instruction video below or contact your KeJe dealer.

KeJe Splendid Split screen door

Normally, the tension of the cord stays good for years. If the door no longer stays open or closed properly, the cord may have slackened slightly over time. In that case, you can simply re-tension the cord (or have it re-tensioned). If in doubt, you can always consult your dealer or watch the instruction video.

  • Clean the mesh with a soft (wet) brush or a slightly damp cloth.

  • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.

  • Remove dust and dirt from the pleated folds and the guides.

  • Check regularly that no dirt accumulates in the mechanism to keep the door working smoothly.

A pleated screen door from KeJe is made from high-quality materials and will last for years with normal use. The exact lifespan depends on use and maintenance, but a long lifespan is the standard. Keeping it clean and careful use extend this lifespan considerably.

A pleated screen door works with a pleated (folded) mesh that folds up like a harmonica when you open or close the door. You slide the screen door open or close smoothly. The mesh folds up compactly in the frame, taking up little space. The big advantage: the door stays in any position, so you decide how far to open or close it. No spring tension, no rattling, just smooth and flexible to use!

A pleated screen door has folded (pleated) gauze that slides aside like a harmonica. You can leave it in any position and it is very user-friendly. A roller gauze screen door has tight gauze that rolls up into a cassette. This door usually shoots back into the cassette automatically when you let go (due to a spring mechanism) and therefore does not stay halfway.

It is not necessarily necessary to bring your screen door inside in winter, but it can extend the life of your screen door. Our screen doors are made of high-quality materials and can easily withstand cold and moisture. However, there are some advantages to storing your screen door indoors during the winter:

  • You prevent dirt, leaves and moisture from accumulating in the mesh or guides.
  • The mesh stays nice and smooth for longer.
  • You have less chance of discolouration or wear due to extreme weather conditions.

Do you have the option of easily removing the screen door? Then it is definitely recommended to store it in a dry place during the winter. You do this simply by pulling the door loose from its clamps. The advice is to always start at the top or bottom, can or do you want to leave it in place? No problem, but give it a good clean in spring and check that everything still runs smoothly.

Drilling and screwing is usually not necessary when fitting a KeJe screen door. Our screen doors are designed in such a way that they can be installed without drilling or screwing in most cases. This is ideal if you want to keep the window frame neat and undamaged, for example with plastic or aluminium window frames.

How does it work?

  • The screen door can often be mounted with special clips, a clamping system or unique tape.

  • When mounting on the day (on the frame), you mount the on the day construction by means of adhesive tape. For this, the product is supplied with a special tape.

  • Only with fixed mounting with screws, for example with wooden window frames or if you want extra strength, drilling is required. And even in many of these situations, you will still be able to choose to mount the upper part with double-sided tape or mounting kit.

A pleated screen door is reasonably wind-resistant, especially in normal use and if it is fitted properly. The mesh is locked in the guides, so it will not blow out easily. In strong winds, the mesh may move a little, but it will not easily come loose. For sliding doors and large passages, the pleated screen door is popular precisely because of its sturdiness and ease of use.

KeJe Original pleated screen door

The KeJe Original Plissé screen door is a popular and classic solution for those looking for a strong, stylish and practical screen door. Thanks to its harmonica design, the door takes up little space and fits perfectly with wooden, aluminium or plastic window frames. Whether you are looking for a screen door for a sliding patio door, a single door or double French doors, this pleated screen door will fit virtually any doorway. Its robust frame, smooth chain system and sleek finish make it a reliable choice that lets you enjoy years of insect-free fresh air.

Screen door for wooden, aluminium and plastic window frames

The Original Plissé screen door is suitable for plastic, wooden and aluminium window frames. The design and installation options are specifically tailored to these, allowing the screen door to be installed in a variety of situations without any problems.

Versatile pleated screen door for any type of door

The Original Plissé screen door is mostly used for single doors but is also very suitable for double-leaf doors. Thanks to the many mounting options, the screen door can be perfectly tailored to any situation, whether mounted in the day or on the day.

This system is also ideal as a sliding door screen door. The pleated screen door can be mounted on the inside or the outside of the sliding door. This offers maximum flexibility and makes it possible to always find a solution that fits the available space and personal preference.

Screen door mounted without drilling

The screen door can be mounted in the day (between the frame) or on the day (in front of the frame). For daytime installation, a special set is supplied to fix the screen door without drilling or screws. Thanks to its own construction, installation is simple and fast, resulting in a visibly sleek finish. When mounted in the day, the screen door can even be fixed with tape, making screw-fastening unnecessary.

Silent screen door with smooth operation

The Original Plissé screen door is a silent screen door. It opens and closes smoothly and quietly, which is especially pleasant when the screen door is installed indoors.

Screen door with robust and clean look

The pleated screen door moves at the top through a slim upper part of only 6 cm. It is mounted in the day as standard with drilling and screws, but can also be fixed with tape or sealant if required. At the bottom, the door slides over a bottom guide, which can be made straight or angled and is always glued. The chain system ensures that the pleated mesh slides in and out smoothly when opening and closing the door.

The screen door is constructed from robust profiles, making it ideal for outdoor installation. The black pleated mesh folds in and out like a harmonica. Operation is via the pull strips, which are fitted with a wide, round slot. This eliminates the need for a separate handle and creates a minimalist look with fewer visible parts. Especially with interior-mounted screen doors, this creates a calm and modern look.

For widths from 1300 mm, a closing clip is supplied as standard. This prevents the pleated screen door from opening inadvertently. Moreover, the mesh package is not visible in closed position, which ensures an extra tight end result.

Made-to-measure screen door: various widths and colours

The standard widths of the Original Plissé screen door are 960 mm, 1300 mm, 1600 mm and 1900 mm. The right size is determined according to the frame's daylight size. For example, if the required width is 1400 mm, the 1600 mm variant is chosen.

The frame is available in five standard RAL colours and can be finished in any RAL colour at additional cost. The end caps and other finishing parts are also matched to the chosen colour. This makes the pleated screen door blend in even more with the frame and form one sleek and coherent whole.
