Fixed screen doors

A fixed pleated screen door is a reliable option that fits your window frames perfectly. These screen doors are often used with single (garden) doors. They are sturdy, long-lasting and allow you to leave your door open without being bothered by annoying insects. Our fixed screen doors are suitable for aluminium frames and can be made to measure so that they fit seamlessly with the dimensions of your door. In addition, installation is easy and you can enjoy them for years with minimal maintenance.

Original pleated screen doors

The original pleated screen door is a popular choice because of its stylish and practical design. This screen door uses a pleated mesh that opens and closes smoothly. This makes the door not only durable but also very user-friendly. The screen doors also fit wooden, plastic and aluminium window frames. The pleated screen door is ideal for French doors or sliding patio doors and is available in four standard sizes. As the door folds up compactly, it takes up little space when not in use. Moreover, the pleated mesh is easy to clean and resistant to wear and tear.

Splendid pleated screen doors

The Splendid pleated screen door is also a pleated screen door, but it is completely made to measure. Moreover, the door closes silently and the screen is mounted without drilling and screws. It can be effortlessly adapted to the specific dimensions of your door, making it fit perfectly. This type of screen door is particularly suitable for sliding doors and large doors. Thanks to the high-quality materials, the Splendid pleated screen door is long-lasting and easy to maintain. In addition, the Splendid pleated screen door fits any type of frame.

Sliding screen doors

A sliding screen door is the ideal solution for large sliding doors. These screen doors are specially designed to move smoothly along your sliding door, giving you easy access to your outdoor space while keeping insects out. At KeJe, sliding screen doors can be fully custom-made to fit your front door perfectly, regardless of its size. KeJe's sliding screen doors are easy to keep clean and require little maintenance, making them ideal for intensive use. In addition, they fit perfectly into aluminium or plastic window frames.

Sliding screen door Ziza

The Insert pleated screen door Ziza is an insert screen door that features black pleated mesh, similar to the pleated door and is suitable for almost all plastic tilt and turn doors. The screen door is installed in the frame without drilling or screws. This makes it an ideal choice especially for plastic window frames. In addition, the Ziza has integrated handles in the pull strips, allowing the screen to be positioned in any desired position.

Installation and maintenance of made-to-measure screen doors

At KeJe, we make it easy to install your made-to-measure screen door. We provide clear instructions and the necessary installation materials so that you can easily install the screen door yourself. If you prefer to use our installation service, our professionals are ready to expertly install the screen door at your home. In terms of maintenance, all KeJe screen doors are easy to clean. For example, the pleated mesh can be easily wiped down with a damp cloth, while the fixed screen doors only need an occasional soak to stay in top condition.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Pleated screen doors

No, in principle, a pleated screen door does not need to be lubricated. The guides and mechanism are low-maintenance and function without grease or oil. Lubrication can actually cause dirt and dust to enter the system, making the door run less smoothly. Keeping the guides clean and dust-free is sufficient maintenance.

In most cases, readjustment is not necessary. Should the screen door run less smoothly or not close properly over time, first check that there is no dirt or obstacles in the guides. If the problem persists, you can check the tension of the cord or the adjustment of the door. Consult the instruction video below or contact your KeJe dealer.

Normally, the tension of the cord stays good for years. If the door no longer stays open or closed properly, the cord may have slackened slightly over time. In that case, you can simply re-tension the cord (or have it re-tensioned). If in doubt, you can always consult your dealer or watch the instruction video.

  • Clean the mesh with a soft (wet) brush or a slightly damp cloth.

  • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.

  • Remove dust and dirt from the pleated folds and the guides.

  • Check regularly that no dirt accumulates in the mechanism to keep the door working smoothly.

A pleated screen door from KeJe is made from high-quality materials and will last for years with normal use. The exact lifespan depends on use and maintenance, but a long lifespan is the standard. Keeping it clean and careful use extend this lifespan considerably.

A pleated screen door works with a pleated (folded) mesh that folds up like a harmonica when you open or close the door. You slide the screen door open or close smoothly. The mesh folds up compactly in the frame, taking up little space. The big advantage: the door stays in any position, so you decide how far to open or close it. No spring tension, no rattling, just smooth and flexible to use!

A pleated screen door has folded (pleated) gauze that slides aside like a harmonica. You can leave it in any position and it is very user-friendly. A roller gauze screen door has tight gauze that rolls up into a cassette. This door usually shoots back into the cassette automatically when you let go (due to a spring mechanism) and therefore does not stay halfway.

It is not necessarily necessary to bring your screen door inside in winter, but it can extend the life of your screen door. Our screen doors are made of high-quality materials and can easily withstand cold and moisture. However, there are some advantages to storing your screen door indoors during the winter:

  • You prevent dirt, leaves and moisture from accumulating in the mesh or guides.
  • The mesh stays nice and smooth for longer.
  • You have less chance of discolouration or wear due to extreme weather conditions.

Do you have the option of easily removing the screen door? Then it is definitely recommended to store it in a dry place during the winter. You do this simply by pulling the door loose from its clamps. The advice is to always start at the top or bottom, can or do you want to leave it in place? No problem, but give it a good clean in spring and check that everything still runs smoothly.

Drilling and screwing is usually not necessary when fitting a KeJe screen door. Our screen doors are designed in such a way that they can be installed without drilling or screwing in most cases. This is ideal if you want to keep the window frame neat and undamaged, for example with plastic or aluminium window frames.

How does it work?

  • The screen door can often be mounted with special clips, a clamping system or unique tape.

  • When mounting on the day (on the frame), you mount the on the day construction by means of adhesive tape. For this, the product is supplied with a special tape.

  • Only with fixed mounting with screws, for example with wooden window frames or if you want extra strength, drilling is required. And even in many of these situations, you will still be able to choose to mount the upper part with double-sided tape or mounting kit.

A pleated screen door is reasonably wind-resistant, especially in normal use and if it is fitted properly. The mesh is locked in the guides, so it will not blow out easily. In strong winds, the mesh may move a little, but it will not easily come loose. For sliding doors and large passages, the pleated screen door is popular precisely because of its sturdiness and ease of use.
