One of the most pleasant spaces in your home? That's often your bedroom. You like to be there. To get your sleep, of course, but also to relax or escape the hustle and bustle for a while. But what makes your bedroom a pleasant space?

Peace and quiet in your bedroom

For most people, a bedroom should feel soothing. The use of colour on the wall plays an important role. Calm, natural tones make a room feel pleasant. Beige and sand colours, for instance, are popular, but earth tones and soft blues and greens also do well on bedroom walls. You can choose to hang some nice photos or prints on the wall, or a shelf with some plants or other accessories. Do you have a PVC or laminate floor in your bedroom? Put a nice soft rug on it. It will look warm and be lovely and soft on your feet.

Window coverings in your bedroom

A key determinant of atmosphere in your bedroom is the window coverings. They can give your bedroom a romantic or more minimalist look. And of course, your window coverings have a functional role to play. They provide the necessary privacy and make your room dark or light. You can choose different types of window coverings. Overblinds always seem to be good, but roller blinds, pleated blinds or horizontal blindsare also sought-after window coverings for a bedroom. Horizontal blinds look beautiful but, even fully closed, still let some light through. With roller blinds and pleated blinds, you can opt for a fully blackout fabric. But maybe you want both... And in the evening, use the black-out pleated blind to make it nice and dark. And you can even use both half-and-half for a more decorative effect.

Comfortable bed

Indispensable for a nice bedroom is of course a nice bed, with a good mattress and pillow. And where some choose a box spring, others like a bed frame better. Temperature in your bedroom

Not directly related to ambience, but still important is a comfortable temperature in the bedroom. A bedroom that is too warm can cause headaches, as can a poorly ventilated bedroom. So always leave your bedroom window ajar for fresh air. The ideal bedroom temperature is set at around 18 degrees. You can prevent a warm bedroom by, for instance, lowering your window decoration before the sun shines in. You can also use a fan or (mobile) air conditioner. And are you cold? Then snuggle under your duvet!
